Description
Well it took a few months, but finally it's done! The Planning Librarian at the Barr Smith Library commissioned me to design a new set of plans for library users to pick up and navigate with; here were a couple of the main guidelines...
-easily read and adaptable for multiple sizes
-convertible to grayscale for easy and cheap scanned copies
It seemed like an interesting job for Sketchup 5/6, and I guess part of the inspiration goes to Koolhaas & OEM/OMA's past library work. Libraries are constantly being reshuffled, so the challenge will be modifying this layout for future users.
What's resulted will certainly be an innovative, efficient and fun take on academic researching!

what?? there`s no basement ?
i want my erotic-literature section
the colours are great and the design is simple and to the point asit should be
only feature i don`t really like is the blue gradient in the background
i would go for something more neutral like a gray gradient
maybe an idea: the public library here has these slide-boards so when section 200 becomes 400 and visa versa they just replace the boards
